Surgaine Technora® and Polyester

Technora® and Polyester overgrip combines the qualities of Technora® with those of Polyester to limit Rope wear and ensure good grip in blockers. Technora® has excellent resistance to heat (450°) and abrasion: it resists friction around the winch during a sudden shock.

Its high coefficient of friction means that the fibers grip to prevent slipping in the blockers. Highly UV-resistant polyester provides longevity and suppleness, while preventing Technora® from tearing at the end of its life: a wear indicator for demanding sailors!

We use this Technora® Polyester sheathing to overlay the blockers on our custom halyards.

You can also opt for a textile rope clamp: it’s even better than a traditional rope clamp, allowing you to release the rope under load without wearing out your Ropes!

How to choose the right sheath diameter for your Ropes:

We advise you to choose the lower value of the Technora overbraiding diameter identical to the diameter of your Rope, the upper value being the maximum diameter of the overbraiding to accommodate an extra splice thickness.

• Ø 06 – 08 mm surge for Ropes: Ø 06 mm
• Ø 08 – 10 mm surge for Ropes: Ø 08 mm
• Ø 10 – 12 mm surge for Ropes: Ø 10 mm
• Ø 12 – 16 mm surge for Ropes: Ø 12 – 14 mm
