Dyneema® SK78 braid – High resistance treatment
7,20 € – 31,46 €
The Ocean 5000 STS “Stronger Than Steel” is a Dyneema® SK78 rope with fibres that have undergone special treatment making the braid particularly stiff and resistant. Thanks to an exceptional weight /resistance ratio, the Ocean 5000 STS enables the construction of extremely lightweight textile cables. It was Ino-Rope’s choice to make backstays, runners, inner forestays, and also lateral standing rigging, shrouds for multi and mono-hulls, with both lifespan and cost adapted to leisure yachting.

Dyneema® SK78 braid – High resistance treatment
The Ocean 5000 STS “Stronger Than Steel” is a Dyneema® SK78 rope with fibres that have undergone special treatment making the braid particularly stiff and resistant. Thanks to an exceptional weight /resistance ratio, the Ocean 5000 STS enables the construction of extremely lightweight textile cables. It was Ino-Rope’s choice to make backstays, runners, inner forestays, and also lateral standing rigging, shrouds for multi and mono-hulls, with both lifespan and cost adapted to leisure yachting.
The Robline rope maker applies a special process to the Ocean 5000 STS, which consists in heat-stretching the braid to compact the plaits together and to direct them toward their working axis. Stiffer and more resistant thanks to the STS treatment, the Ocean 5000 braid’s elongation will be minimal.
- The STS treatment enables a perfect round cross-section braid, that can be spliced, and a cover can be added easily.
- The Ocean 5000 STS stiffness properties enable steel cables to be replaced on standing rigging: forestays, shrouds, backstays, runners and downhaul strops.
- The Ocean 5000 STS braid can also be used ashore with hoists or any application requiring cables.
