Located in Mystic, USA, Tylaska manufactures snap shackles that can be opened under load. Originally designed for hang-gliders towed by a motorboat, the Tylaska snap shackles were quickly used by sailors. The manufacturing process usually used in the aircraft industry consists in high pressure moulding to get the highest possible material density and consistency. This process, called HIPping -Hot Isostatic Processing-, allows Tylaska to design metallic shapes that are impossible to forge or cast. After thermal treatment, each snap shackle is tested under load to match resistance and safety warranty criteria.
