The low-friction open ring is a very useful accessory for running the manoeuvring line from the hook-up point to the cockpit, for example. It is also used by many sailors to set barber haulers or halyard spreaders.
Description
Low friction open ring Karver
The passage is optimised to allow the rope to pass through with a small amount of force and to prevent it from coming out during use.
This open ring allows the line to be perfectly aligned in the furler drum and the line to run perfectly alongside the stanchions. The furlers are by definition flying and open rings make it very easy to install and remove the line.
The low-friction open ring was initially designed for the furling line, but it is now being used for many other applications: barber-haulers, reefing lines, lazzy jacks, etc..
