Dyneema® SK78 braid – no long braid

Long-pitch Dyneema® SK78 braid from Corderie Lancelin: very low elongation and high strength under load to create strong textile estropes or textile loops.

The quality of Dyneema ® SK78 long-pitch fiber from Corderie Lancelin: very low elongation and high strength under load.

When braided long, Dyneema® spindles are more oriented in the tensile direction. When the braid is tensioned, elongation is minimal and working load capacity is increased.

The grey polyurethane sizing increases the abrasion and UV resistance of Dyneema ®. An ideal Rope for demanding sailors.

Like Kleenex, Scotch or Frigos, Dyneema is a trade name, a much sexier name than ” high-modulus polyethylene “, the petroleum-based fiber it refers to.

You can also use the acronym HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene).

Use:

Slightly flattened cross-section. Ideal for backstay, forestay, vang, backstay, standing rigging… for example.
