Dyneema® RSK99 core Ropes – Technora® and Polyester sheathing

High tensile strength and abrasion resistance, as well as good hold in blockers and on winches. The 12-strand Dyneema® RSK99 core is easy to splice and unsheath thanks to the polyurethane sizing.

The benefits of pre-stretching the soul:

During braiding, air slips between the spindles, creating gaps. Pre-stretching a braid involves stretching the rope to orient the fibers in their working axis. By squeezing together, the spindles expel the air trapped in the braid. The result is a denser braid that will not stretch when first tensioned.

Dyneema® Racing SK99 core:

Dyneema SK99 has replaced SK90. Its elongation is lower than that of SK75 and SK78. It is closer to 3%. Creep is low to medium, but SK99 is 20 to 25% stronger. Creep is only triggered at 25% of the braid’s breaking load. The stronger the braid, the lower the risk of reaching the “creep zone”.

Mixed Technora and polyester sheathing :

Technora ® offers excellent abrasion resistance. Polyester compensates for the shortcomings of aramid fibers. A mixed polyester-Technora® sheath is in fact softer than a 100% Technora ® sheath. As it ages, the latter becomes rigid and unpleasant to the touch, as the aramid fibers harden under the effect of UV light. What’s more, polyester significantly increases the sheath’s longevity, as its UV resistance is far superior to that of Technora®. A mixed polyester-Technora® sheath therefore combines durability, rope flexibility and abrasion resistance.

Surgainage :

We recommend that you apply a Technora polyester or Technora overgrip to your Rope where it passes through the blockers. It increases grip to prevent slippage and extends the life of your Rope by protecting it from abrasion by the blocker.
